Prof. Hadas Okon-Singer

Prof. Hadas Okon-Singer, the head of The Cognition Emotion Interaction Lab under the Psychology department in Haifa University. She is also a member of the Brain and Behaviour center and Data science center in Haifa University. In the lab, they look for the connection between emotion and cognition and focus on the ways anxiety and depression are related to the cognitive process. For example: people with anxiety often interpret situation differently than people with no anxiety. The lab uses computerized assignments that measure reaction time as well as measuring brain activity using EEG and FMRI and physiological measures (such as heart rate and more). One of the researches focuses on the factors that affect personal space and an estimate of distance. Developing computerized tasks that simulate real life situations to see the physical distance people feel comfortable being in proximity to others and weather they can assess that distance accurately or not. We use adults in out exams (18 and above). We also research adults with a low anxiety. Individuals with social anxiety and ASD individuals as well.
